TANGY BAR-B-QUE SAUCE

6 Tablespoons butter
1 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 1/2 cups Ketchup
1 cup vinegar
2/3 cup brown sugar
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups water

Melt butter in saucepan. Sauté celery, onion and green pepper about five minutes.
Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

This sauce can be used with any type of meat. Brown meat on all sides. Place in oven-safe pan and pour sauce over. Bake at 350° until meat is tender and sauce is thickened…(Usually around 1 1/2 hours)
