Snow Fall

From the Heavens snow falls gently

on this cold December day

And the snowflakes form a blanket

as on the frozen ground they lay

The crispness that is in the air

you can almost smell

And it chills the tiny sparrows

in the treetops where they dwell

I wrap my sweater tight around me

pick up a fallen glove

And I wish for a ray of sunlight

To peek through the clouds above

A shiver runs right through me

my heart is longing to be warmed

As winter dazzles me with brilliance

and the earth becomes transformed…

Please share more of your poetry Suzi! Or I am going to challenge you to blog and write poems about whatever word we throw at you! Like “pineapple”…..or “lazyboy”…or maybe both combined? Hmmm… I feel a dare coming on!
