I have several mature Paw Paw trees in my back yard, and 20+ small ones started for a nice grove on the hill side. Lots of the small ones are only around six inches or so tall.
I recently learned that Paw paws trees are the ONLY host plant for the Zebra Swallowtail Butterfly!
Today I was cutting weeds around the little trees and saw a mature Mommy carefully checking out each little tree. It was awesome that she knew just which ones were weeds and which ones were trees.
Then I noticed that some of the trees had babies on them. They were only half an inch long so it was really difficult to get a proper picture with my phone.

This is what the little fellow looked like before I did a bit of enlarging and tweaking.
