The chipmunks were nice enough to leave me a few ripe strawberries, so today I had enough to make a pint of yummy strawberry preserves. They will be awesome with some buttered biscuits!

BLACK WALNUT FESTIVAL CARROT CAKE
I have had this recipe since the mid-50s. It is very different from carrot cakes made in recent years. I hope you like it! Cook’s note: be sure to use BLACK walnuts or you won’t get the same product.
