Needing new garden inspiration, I came up with the idea of creating a friendship garden…a dedicated space, filled with plants and ornamental objects that remind me of friends, both past and present!
While standing in my room, looking out onto the back yard, I spotted the perfect location!

A spot in my back yard that once held a nice pond complete with frogs and a sitting area.
Years of neglect had let the pond become filled in, and the bench in sad need of repair.
A couple of hours of intense digging and strimming, and it is well on it’s way to becoming beautiful again in a whole new meaningful way!

These two irises give new meaning to the popular phrase! Tiny “Aggressively Forward” is dwarfed by new “Wine Festival”.

Finally, after a rough start, the new iris has successfully bloomed and been identified! “Wine festival”

Oh how I wish we had smellivision!

My entry today. One of my favorite peonies is getting ready to bloom. This one is from my Hubby’s grandmothers garden. I treasure it!

Hosta “White Feather” doing it’s summer thing.

What a surprise to have this iris show up! I bought it about three years ago and it never bloomed, but always looked rather frail. I though it had died, but here it is! “Concertina” LOVE those blue beards!

The first iris of the season is always exciting. This one is a quaint old heirloom that is not as showy as the tall bearded varieties, but the color is still most welcome in the early spring garden.

First Asiatic lily to join all it’s many friends in the greenhouse.

I just can’t resist sharing one more picture of my precious little peppers that have spent their entire life sitting right on my desk beside my computer. I am just plain amazed!
