Whip-poor-wills are one of the oddest birds in the bird kingdom! This is not my photo, and I doubt I will ever have one of my own to share. They are very illusive, and also very scarce!! On the rare occasion that we hear one just at dusk on a balmy May evening, it brings fond memories of my childhood flooding back!
