Summer is winding down and soon the colorful shades of Autumn will grace the hillsides and the garden.

For now, a few summer beauties are still bravely blooming away, blissfully unaware that their lives may soon come to an end.

I discovered this gorgeous, delicate pink daylily this summer and had no idea where it came from.

I had moved a couple that weren’t growing well where they were but thought they were a rust color.

It produced several lovely flowers and I was thrilled to have it, but had no idea what it’s name was.

Yesterday, while trimming a bush, I found a tag fastened down next to the ground. VOILA!!! Mystery solved. And what a sweet name for a sweet flower…….”Love Gift.”

I planted several different types of cosmos this year. They are slow to bloom because of the unstable weather we have had all year, but they are slowly coming to life.

This pink Seashell Cosmos is looking a bit ratty, but the bees don’t mind.

A harvest of sweet, juicy corn, fresh off the stalks is always a welcome treat.

Theme for today is red and white. Lots of lovely blossoms in the garden!

Day lily “Marquee Moon”, is quickly becoming one of my favorites. It’s creamy white elegance is most welcome among all the flashy tones.

This Hemerocallis , “Celtic Merchant” Is one of my top favorites in the garden.
It is very fragile and multiples slowly. The showy flowers are easily damaged by the constant rain we have been having, but occasionally a perfect flower appears.
