I’m trying to understand why sometimes a post will have the option to view all the comments, and other times it doesn’t…
It says there are 18 comments, but only gives access to two of them this time…
I’ve seen this happen on other posts as well…
Confusion…
The site is only showing you comments you haven’t seen already. There is supposed to be an option that allows you to see all of them that isn’t there though, I’m going to check why not.
Essentially it is to make the site run faster, but it’s supposed to allow you to override. I’m looking for it.
I’m not seeing anything obvious causing it which means it’s going to take me longer to find it. It would be helpful to figure out if that is happening on site posts also (like this one) or just the activity stream. I’ll keep looking, this one may take a while and I might need to start a ticket on the plugin author’s site about it.
I’ve noticed that as well, but I figured part of the problem was on my end, my stupid router keeps dropping, or I figured the signal isn’t strong enough. I have a feeling it’s the same issue with why on some posts you can post a pic in comments and then in other posts you can’t. Something is hanging up somewhere and not loading it each time.
I’ve noticed it also. But then I already mentioned. I just thought I’d mention it again while sipping coffee and letting Frankkee peck my keyboard while Mr. Buckles cries because he is locked in the office. Frankee is talking in my ear and pecking at my earrings so I have to stop typing now, .Hope you are doing well there today.☕

It appears to be a bug, I just added new comments to two threads I was having the problem with, as soon as I did, I got the “see all” icon on them and could expand the comments.
It is definitely related to the routine that speeds up the loading of the page, it doesn’t display them all because it would take considerably longer to load the page if it did every time somebody loaded the activity page.
Still looking into it, it doesn’t appear to be a setting I have fouled up at this point, it looks like it is an actual problem with the code and I’ll have to contact the vendor about it.
The short term work around is if you want to see all the comments on that post again, add a comment to the thread then refresh the page.
And my bet is it is a problem with only the activity feed, it shouldn’t show up on any of the member sites. If someone runs across it on any of those, please let me know.
Brian, The @ doesn’t work now on any post I try to add it to. I’m so sorry I must have jinxed this site by posting. I am so ashamed...😏😪🤔😏
