It’s that time again for another Music Monday. I chose this particular song for today, not because I am into hard rock, but because it is the first song that popped into my head. Yesterday my brother and sister-in-law were over, and they picked some cherries off one of the trees in the garden. There is still a ton of cherries out there and I am hoping to get out there some time to get a few. It’s too hot to bake a cherry pie today, but they can go in the freezer for now till cooler weather this fall.

Morning Civatar! It’s another Music Monday and a time to put some music on to get the day started. I’ve been puttering a bit and being a bit indecisive on whether it’s going to be an outside workday or inside workday. If I wait long enough, the weather will decide it for me.

For today’s Music Monday which happens to fall on Memorial Day, I chose this rendition of the Star Spangled Banner by Chris Stapleton. One of the best versions I have heard in a very long time. I hope each of you have a wonderful Memorial Day Holiday and take time to reflect and think of those who gave so much for others.

I had hoped to grab some pics of what is all blooming here, but with the wind and rain, the delicate blooms of iris, peonies, roses, etc, have taken a bit of a beating. They are on the tail end of their bloom season as well and it won’t be long before the daylilies will be sending up scapes. I will try and do better about grabbing more bloom pics then. For now, just a couple pics of the visiting hummers.

I came across this song on Youtube the other day, and I had forgotten just how good it is! I really love the horns and the back-up singers along with the amazing vocals of Annie Lennox. I won’t be bothering to try and view the eclipse here in Nebraska since we will only be able to get a partial view of it. But for today’s Music Monday, I have to include the classic, “Total Eclipse of the Heart”. It’s been years since I saw the video and I had forgotten how quirky it was.
