I noticed this shrub while outside the other day and I have posted pics before of it’s beautiful blue blooms. Recently it has been blooming a few different shades which is typical for this variety.
So for today’s theme, I am posting two pics of blooms of different colors on the same hydrangea. I’ll include another pic or two so you can see it is all from the same shrub.

This last pic is a bit of a blend with the shades of blue with a hint of pink. Some years there are blooms that look more purple or lavender.
Have a good day Bloggers!
I love hydrangeas…they remind me of my grandparents… ❤ Thanks for posting these!
I do too, I keep thinking I need to plant a few new varieties. Maybe next year!
No, do it now. Don’t be a procrastinator… 😂
Yes ma’am!
Ya know, my peegees were big and white, and gorgeous, but with rain every other day, they were living in the gutter. Our tree out front split down the middle, and it was just becoming a nice shade tree. Oh well, life goes on, and I’ll look at it that there won’t be debris from it in the gutter out there. It’s been nice weather this month, but my allergies have been particularly bad due to the lack of rain. I guess Mother Nature is mad about something here.
I have some of the old fashioned ‘Annabell’ and they aren’t quite as big as they have been in past years. We have had plenty of rain too, I’m thinking maybe they need to be thinned or are just getting old and petering out.
Do you fertilize to get the blue? Mine are pink because I stopped fertilizing to get the blue. They are in an area they hate. They need to be moved, but the root system is so huge that they won’t be relocated. Not by me, anyway.
No, these are the “Endless Summer” variety, and bloom with both shades on them. I have found them to be very fickle and so have a lot of people in my area. I think they may need a longer growing season?
This spring was so rough that my Peony bloomed, but then the rain made them turn black like most wet summers in the past. Last year, my flowers were beautiful, but this year was an off year for good blooming. But I wasn’t around to mess with them anyway. I need to get some lunch, so I’ll talk with you later, Vic.
We have had a lot of rain this year, A couple of my planters got flooded and of course that didn’t make the plants happy. Crossing my fingers for a better fall… can’t decide if I should yank out the old flowers and replant with some mums for fall.
