Love it…the girl singing reminds me of someone who sang about colors in a paint commercial. It’s going to drive me absolutely nuts until I find that gal and her group and re-listen to that song.
April Smith and the Great Picture Show, different styles of music, but something about their singing styles is similar to me…(or maybe they just both feel a bit retro?).
That’s the reason I looked up the band. Someone was asking about the washboard as a musical instrument, it isn’t terribly common. This guy does a good job with it, he is basically mimicking the sounds of tap dancing.
Yes, I noticed he was quite musical with it!!
A group of ladies here in my community formed a band with all “home-grown” instruments. They were sure a hit at local gatherings. If I ever find anything online I will send you a link. I don’t know if they are still performing. I can’t remember the name but remember it was catchy!
