Texas Sheet Cake

INGREDIENTS

 

2 sticks butter or margarine
4 tablespoons cocoa
1 cup water
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon vanilla

INSTRUCTIONS

In saucepan, combine butter or margarine, cocoa, and water. Bring to a boil.

Remove from heat and add flour, sugar and salt.

Blend well, and stir in  eggs, sour cream and soda.

Pour into a greased 9×13 pan and bake at 350* for 30 minutes.

Remove from oven and ice immediately.

 

FROSTING

1 stick butter or margarine
4 Tablespoons cocoa
1 pound confectioners sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
6 tablespoons milk
1 cup chopped pecans

Combine butter/margarine, cocoa and milk and bring to  a boil. Remove from heat and add sugar and pecans.

Blend well and pour over hot cake.
